Twifo Oil Palm Plantation
Akatua configured custom pay rules for Twifo's layered plantation and factory operations, integrating with time and attendance so 1,000+ employees on 24/7 shifts are paid accurately every cycle.
About the company
One of Ghana's largest commercial agricultural operations and part of the Unilever group, employing over 1,000 workers across large-scale cultivation and processing facilities that run 24/7.
The challenge
Payroll was exceptionally complex. Plantation workers were paid based on variables including land gradient, task nature, and time of day — not a fixed rate. Factory operations required accounting for night shifts, overtime, and irregular hours. Manual processing for 1,000+ employees was error-prone and unsustainable, with no reliable clock-in/out data to support accurate pay.
How Akatua delivered
Akatua was configured with custom rules to handle the layered pay structure and integrated directly with the factory's time and attendance system.
- Accurate rules-based pay regardless of task complexity or shift timing.
- Seamless 24/7 shift coverage without manual intervention.
- Direct integration with attendance systems to eliminate disputes and errors.
